Casamigos is a U.S.-based spirits brand created by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman that partners with producers in Mexico. It began as a private house tequila for friends before launching publicly in 2013, and later joined Diageo in 2017. Tequila is made in Jalisco from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands, slow roasted in brick ovens, fermented with a proprietary yeast, and twice distilled, with maturation for certain expressions in American oak ex-whiskey barrels.
The portfolio centers on three tequila expressions at 40% ABV: Blanco, Reposado aged about seven months, and Añejo aged about fourteen months, each released in multiple formats such as 375 ml, 750 ml, and 1 L. Casamigos also offers a Mezcal Joven from Oaxaca made with 100% Espadín, positioned for sipping neat or in cocktails like the Margarita and Paloma, with flavor cues that lean toward soft vanilla and citrus in tequila and a gently smoky, earthy profile in the mezcal.
