Gérard Bertrand is a Southern French wine producer rooted in the Languedoc, based around Narbonne in the Occitanie region with estate vineyards spanning key appellations such as La Clape, Minervois-La Livinière, Corbières, Faugères, Fitou, Limoux, and the Terrasses du Larzac. Founded in the early 1990s by former rugby player Gérard Bertrand after he took over his family domaine following his father Georges Bertrand’s death, the company grew by assembling a mosaic of Mediterranean sites and elevating Languedoc blends built on Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and local whites like Roussanne and Viognier. Their production identity centers on biodynamic and organic farming, single-estate and parcel-driven bottlings, and a style that leans into coastal garrigue, limestone, and schist terroirs with careful extraction and measured oak rather than sweetness or gloss. Beyond still reds, whites, and rosés, Gérard Bertrand also makes Crémant de Limoux and other sparkling wines, plus a range of low and no-alcohol offerings aimed at preserving regional flavor while shifting the alcohol profile.
